Transparency and a high-quality process are essential to maintaining a long-term partnership. On this page, you can learn more about my client and design process.
My client process:
1. First consultation (30 min)
After you send me your inquiry, I will contact you to arrange a 30-minute consultation so that we can get to know each other and discuss the full scope of the project, objectives, timeline, budgets, etc.
2. Project proposal and first payment
I’ll send you a project quote detailing the project objectives and what the whole process will involve. If it’s confirmed by you, I’ll send you a cooperation agreement, a brand questionnaire and an invoice with payment schedule. We can only move forward once these are signed, paid and completed.
3. The design process begins!
Once I have received the signed cooperation agreement, the first payment and the completed brand questionnaire, I can start my design process.
4. Brand showcase and results
According to our agreed schedule, I will send you an initial visual direction and brand presentation. In this presentation, I’ll walk you through all the stages of my design process, explaining the rationale behind each decision to arrive at the final design. I’ll also send you a feedback form afterwards, so you can write down your thoughts for any necessary changes.
5. Changes needed
Although it’s tricky, it’s really important to let all the information I’ve given you digest for at least 1-2 days before giving feedback. Depending on the level of changes requested (if any), I will send them in a new presentation and conduct a video call.
6. Summary and guidelines
After you approve the entire design, I’ll share the final invoice with you, and once it’s paid, I’ll send all the files and exported files in one highly organized folder system for you to use immediately. I like to get back in touch with my clients a few months after the project is finished to see how you’re doing, so be prepared to be a client who cares! 😊
My design process:

1 – New inquiry
Every client request is different, with different objectives. First, I analyse the new request and then I contact the client to schedule a consultation.

2 – Initial brand analysis
After the consultation, I dive into my thoughts. Before I even start designing, I go in-depth with the keywords we discussed during the call that resonate best with the client’s brand. In other words, word mapping.

3 – Ideation phase
I sketch my first visual ideas on paper in a very simple form. When I’ve exhausted myself enough, I’ll go through everything again and pick out the potential diamonds.

4 – Visual development of the idea
At this stage, I experiment with all the sketches I have chosen and often one of them will stand out the most, on which I further develop the colour palette, typography, patterns and other elements.

5 – Brand presentation
Once I’ve developed the visual direction of the idea, I move on to creating the brand presentation. I build the brand further into specific mockups so the client can actually see what their brand would look like in the real world. I then start to put together a comprehensive presentation that outlines each step of my process at each stage. Why did I make this visual decision? How does this particular direction best speak to the brand’s target audience? I will make this presentation in a video call with the client.

6 – Feedback and changes
After receiving feedback from the client, I will fine-tune design elements if necessary or, in rare cases, create a new direction. If the changes are significant, I create a new presentation. Once approved, I work on any further assets we agreed earlier in the process, such as brand guidelines, packaging design, etc. I then conduct video calls with the client to discuss any new work until the client is happy with all the brand assets. At the end of this phase, I help with instructions on how to use all files and give advice for the future!
